Digital Media Analysis

Digital Media Analysis can be an important part of any Accident Reconstruction, Human Factors Analysis or Premise Liability consultation. Digital Media Analysis can include 2D or 3D photogrammetry of still images or analysis of video to determine position, speed and timing of vehicle, objects, pedestrians and events. Even if a video might not show a specific event, the audio contained in that recording could be analyzed to determine key events such as initiation of hard braking, turn signal activation, horn activation, and even vehicle travel speed. We have conducted and published, peer-reviewed, research specifically analyzing dash camera audio to determine vehicle speed.

Photogrammetry can be an extremely valuable tool to analyze anything from the extent of damage to a vehicle (crush) or the precise location of physical evidence on a roadway or the height of a curb, vertical discontinuity or elevation change. JS Forensic Consulting utilizes state-of-the-art 3D photogrammetry software as well as traditional planar photogrammetry to ensure efficient and accurate results.

Security cameras, dash cams, in-vehicle camera systems, and personal video recorders can provide incredibly valuable information about how an incident occurred. These videos need to be carefully analyzed with proper scientific techniques to ensure that the results are accurate. With proper forensic analysis, we can determine position, distance, speed and timing of events, vehicles and pedestrians from your video or audio files.

JS Forensic Consulting utilizes state-of-the-art software and analysis techniques to ensure that we provide the most accurate and best results. Contact us to discuss how we can help analyze your photographs, videos or audio.
